My daughter in Vegas was watching Good Morning America a few weeks ago and you were being interviewed. When they said, you were from Amory, Ms..she took down all the info so she could order the book for me for Mother’s Day, since I grew up in Smithville, Ms., and my parents moved to Amory after I graduated from Hi School. I just finished reading your book yesterday. It is a good book. I enjoyed reading about people like Mr. Guy Pickle and Earl Stevens that I knew, etc.
My nephew in Amory had told me years ago about “Stars over Mississippi”. We go to Amory several times a year but have never been there during one of those concerts.
We live in Phoenix, Az. part of the year and in the Panhandle of Florida part of the year.
You did a great job sharing the way you were brought up and how the things your mom taught you stuck with you.
The statement I loved best was: “I am the same person today that I was when I came here”.

Mr. Haskell,
Thank you for sharing with the world what it means to be a true southern gentleman. As a mother I too have been sharing similiar lessons with my two sons and daughter over the years. With the help of modern technology I continue to do that since my oldest is a patient at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN and my other children are in South Carolina with their grandparents. I recieved your book for Mother’s Day and have committed to have my children read it. Again, thank you and all the people who helped you make this piece of literture come to be.

Remarkable book. I’ve been a manager in the business for over 20 years and I’m sorry we never had a chance to work together. I loved this book! It is extremely inspirational. I have aspirations of becoming an agent in the future and the way you did it was extremely captivating. From what I hear, it is difficult to keep such a strong faith in LA but you show that it can be done. Thanks for your story and please visit Dallas!
