Sam, reading "Promises" and am deeply touched by your story. I keep seeing my own mother, now deceased, in your mom. From Mississippi to Hollywood is one incredible achievement for anyone, especially "a Southern Baptist from Mississippi". I am sorry I missed you at the Lake Zurich signing. I am a "Chicago Kid" who moved to Lake Zurich 38 years ago as what some in the family called a "pioneer" and raised a family in this great community. I hope you come back soon and let me be you tour guide and I would love to continue where you left off. Congratulations on your incredible achievements in one "cut throat" business. What an incredible woman your dear mom must have been to have influenced you as she did. Gods blessings upon you and your family in 2010 and keep up the good work.

What a wonderful book signing we had with Sam at Essco/Shooz Too in Yazoo City, MS. This was without a doubt the most fun we have ever had hosting such a celebrity. Sam has certainly kept his "Promises he made his Mother".
